The Odyssey discovered a forge of worlds-a massive structure that could create planets. Captain Elena Vasquez stood on the bridge, staring at the viewscreen. The forge pulsed with energy, its arms reaching into the void.

"Command, this is Vasquez. I've found something."

"Copy, Odyssey. What is it?"

"A planet forge. It can create new worlds."

Kaelen appeared beside her. "It's a First Ones' device. They used it to seed the galaxy with habitable planets."

"Can we use it?"

"Yes. But we need to be careful."

The Builder interfaced with the controls. The forge hummed, and a new planet flickered to life-blue oceans, green forests, white clouds.

"Command, we've created a planet."

"Copy, Odyssey. That's incredible."

Elena looked at the new world, at the future it represented.

"This is what the First Ones dreamed of," she said.

"Yes," Kaelen replied. "A universe full of life."

The Odyssey left the forge, carrying its knowledge.

The universe was vast.

And full of possibilities.

The end.

The word spread like fire: Patton's tanks had broken through. The siege was over.

Mac stood with the others, watching the 4th Armored Division roll into Bastogne-tanks covered in mud, men with gaunt faces, but alive, here, real.

"Look at them," Sam breathed. "Look at them."

The surrounded paratroopers of the 101st emerged from their foxholes, waving, cheering, crying. They'd held for eight days with almost nothing-no supplies, no winter gear, no hope except each other.

A tank stopped near Mac. The commander, young and tired, waved. "Room for two more if you want a ride out."

Mac shook his head. "We're staying. Job's not done."

The tanker nodded like he understood. "Good luck, soldier."

The column moved on.

That night, Mac sat around a fire with strangers who felt like family. They shared what little they had-cigarettes, chocolate, stories. A paratrooper from the 101st talked about the fighting, about the cold, about the friend he'd lost.

"I thought we were done for," he said quietly. "I really did."

Mac looked at the fire. "So did we. More than once."

The paratrooper looked at him. "Where'd you land? D-Day?"

"Omaha. 1st Infantry."

A long silence. Then the paratrooper raised his canteen. "To the Big Red One. And to the Screaming Eagles. And to everyone who made it."

They drank.

Somewhere in the darkness, the Germans regrouped.

Somewhere ahead, the war continued.

But for one night, there was Bastogne, and fire, and brothers.
